Weekly Wrap-Up: Tulip Edition

The girls and I went on a three day field trip this week.  Fun!  And sadly, the pictures are not on my computer yet, and I do not have my camera cord with me to load them.

We saw a parade with many, many marching bands from grades five and up.  We saw lots and lots of tulips, Dutch crafts, wooden shoes, Dutch dancers, and the beach.

And apparently I can no longer consume large quantities of greasy carnival food and still get an uninterrupted night's sleep.  :ahem:

Ashley got to experience a little more of the beach and water than the rest of us.  It was a fairly warm day when we were at the beach.  We were only there for a couple of hours.  The girls decided to wade out into the water.  Lauren had shorts on, but Ashley was wearing jeans that she just pulled up.  She was out by some big rocks and BOOM.  She stepped into a hole and was up to her waist in water!

Trust me, this would have been much better if it had happened to Lauren instead.

After she calmed down, we moved on to better things such as finding dead fish along the pier and Mommy reminding the girls that if they dared to go within two feet of the pier's edge, she would most likely shriek in panic and they would be banished from the pier on all future beach trips.

Mommy has slight issues with FALLING.  Not heights....just falling.

This is largely due to the viewing of too many CSI shows where the dead victims fell to their death.

Mommy is no longer allowed to watch CSI.  Or medical dramas.

About five minutes before I wanted to leave, the girls were once again wading in the water.  Ashley felt she was getting too close to the hole again and therefore felt the need to sprint through the water.  Never an easy task.

She proceeded to fall face first into the water.

Ashley fought the beach and the beach won.

On the way home from the festivities (which were in Mimi & Papa's town, so that was a lovely bonus), we went to a zoo.  We were very glad we got in for half price due to being members at our own zoo because we were a tad disappointed in the lack of animals.  At the zoo.  Our zoo is so much more superior, I'm just sayin'.  And the main animals we wanted to see and feed, the giraffes, were not on exhibit that day and IT WASN'T EVEN COLD OUT.  Boo-hiss.

But it was a lovely week.

It sounds like a very eventful trip. I can't wait to see the pictures. You did take a picture of Ashley and the hole, right? That's the one I'm really looking for. =o)

My camera was in my pocket and I couldn't get it out in time even if I had thought about it right then. She popped up pretty quick and headed to shore! LOL

Must have been a fun day. She's a brave girl to go on to the zoo after all her water mishaps!

LOL You're very brave in my book. I have issues with heights, falling, undertows and sharks :)
