We recently did a major de-clutter and reorganization of our 7-year old's bedroom. That girl is the Clutter Queen of Seven Year Olds. She has a large bedroom, but I wanted nice, open spaces in it. I've found that the more clutter that is sitting around, the easier it is to keep piling it on.I decided to put a ban on all of the cardboard boxes and lids that she had been using for stuffed animal homes. They were ugly, lining the walls, and were potential bug magnets. (Ever hear of earwigs? ICK.)
I decided to go VERTICAL. I had just read in an organizing article that using the vertical space in a kid's bedroom was a good idea. I thought so too. My daughter has many treasured, small stuffed animals. So, we bought a clear, hanging shoe storage thingy at Target for about $5. (DH & I have never really liked those stuffed animal net things that you can hang in a high corner of a child's room. So that's why we didn't get one of those. Just in case you were wondering. I'm sure loads of you were. Ha.)

The young Clutter Queen is very pleased with the outcome. She has her most-often played with animals on the lower levels while the ones that are special but not played with as often are up higher. We may use some ribbon or something to hang the organizer a bit lower from the hooks. It's a little higher than she would like it, but I do think it looks adorable. And it Works for Us!

That's a great idea and it decorates the bare wall, too. We have a lot of clutter problems in our girls' rooms.
Love that idea! My boys could use some organization. :)
Love that idea, I plan on doing this soon! (maybe this weekend!)
Great idea. We used the net in Kelly's room years ago.
Great idea, I too hate the nets and have been wondering what to do with my daughter's immense collection.
