WFMW -- Honey Oatmeal Bread for Bread Machine

*****EDITED: Hmmmmm.....I'm editing this post because I just noticed that half of it disappeared since I typed it and posted it last night! I don't know what happened! I must have accidentally deleted the first paragraph or something! This is what I said:
This bread is delicious! My family gobbles it up every time I make it. We love it warm, right out of the oven bread machine with real butter on it (DH likes to have honey on his), and if any is left, it's yummy warmed or toasted the next day.

Honey Oatmeal Bread (for a Bread Machine)

1-1/4 cup water (70-80 degrees)
1/2 cup honey
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1-1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups plus 2 Tbsp. bread flour
2-1/4 tsp. yeast

In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Bake.

Check after 5 minutes. Add 1-2 Tbsp. flour or water if needed.

Makes a 1-1/2 lb. loaf.

Will have to try this--usually make my daughter straight white whole wheat--she would probably like this.

I'll have to try this. It looks like a yummy breakfast bread. Do you know if you can use whole wheat for any of the flour?

Leah, I have not tried using whole wheat for any of the flour. It might work if you did that but used mostly bread flour with some wheat.

I'm still looking for a super-duper good wheat recipe. I have one that I need to try again that is similar to this one. I think I got it from a WFMW post a couple of months ago.

Thanks for your comment! (and you too, Heather!)

Bless you for posting this. My dad made something similar and lost the recipe. I used to love it!
